Welcome to lagaaij mediation.nl
I am so pleased that you have found my website! Lagaaij Mediation is the website of Femke Lagaaij, MfN mediator. For all of my career I have been bringing together people and organisations, and as of now as a mediator. In a safe setting, I help you to resolve your conflict - or a situation in which you simply cannot find an agreement - so that you can move forward again. A conflict usually has a deep impact: you may have trouble sleeping and find it difficult to let go of it. Mediation is a fast and effective method of reaching a solution that both parties can support. This is also the beauty of mediation: you can often get along with the other party again afterwards. I look forward to supporting you in this process!
I hope I may be of service to you.
The basic rules of mediation are:
-
Neutral Facilitator:A mediator is an impartial individual who guides the discussion and helps the parties identify common ground.
-
Voluntary Process:Parties choose to participate in mediation, and they are not obliged to accept any agreement reached.
-
Confidentiality:Mediation sessions are typically confidential, encouraging open communication without fear of the information being used against them in court.
-
Negotiated Agreement:The goal is for the parties is to reach a mutually acceptable agreement that resolves their dispute, rather than having a decision imposed by a judge or other authority.
Why mediation is used:
-
Faster and More Affordable:Mediation can be a quicker and less expensive alternative than going to court.
-
Reduced Conflict:Mediation can help parties maintain a more positive relationship by fostering communication and understanding.
-
Greater Control:Parties have more control over the outcome of the dispute, as they are actively involved in the negotiation process and cannot be bound to any solution unless self-elected.
-
Creative Solutions:Mediation can allow for more creative and flexible solutions than traditional legal proceedings. The outcome can sometimes be positively surprising.
I am a registered MfN mediator, and thus bound by the MfN regulations and the code of conduct, you can find an English version of both documents here:
